Swim Team Information
Hello! Summer and Swim Team are both right around the corner! If you know anyone that is interested in swimming, please encourage them to try it out for a week! We need more swimmers! If they like it, they can sign up and if not, no problem. We are really trying to get the word out that we need more swimmers, so please encourage your friends. Also, if you are a sibling that will attend practices and meets, why not have them join in on the fun? We really need more swimmers! Also, if you are planning to be on the swim team, but haven't signed up yet, I have attached the registration form. Please complete and return ASAP! And did I mention, we really need more swimmers?! Thank you for your help in recruiting swimmers for our swim team! :)

It's not too late to sign up for Swim Team!
Hi. There is still time to sign up for swim team! If you are still interested, please let me know! If you are not interested, please let me know that and I can remove your name from the distribution list. If you have some conflicts with other sports, camps, activities, etc. we can always work around that too. We are in need of more swimmers this year!
Our coach will be Beckah Silver and our assistant will be Katie Pritchard.
We are hoping for optional practices June 1-3. Practice will start on Monday, June 6. Our first meet is Tuesday, June 7. We will keep you posted.
Practice times will be 9:45-10:45a.m. M-F for the older swimmers and 10:45-11:30a.m. M-F for the younger swimmers. We will determine the practice groups after we have everyone registered but it will probably be something similar to younger = 10 and under plus new swimmers and older = 11 and up plus experienced swimmers.

Lexington Lakers is a traveling recreational summer swim team with a schedule of 14 swim meets over 5 weeks (3 weeks in June and 2 weeks in July).
Practices will begin as soon as school is out and the pool is open. Practices are held every day in the morning Monday through Friday (times are determined by swimmer's age and skill level).
Swim Meets are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and some Saturdays. The first swim meet is Tuesday, June 7, 2011. The last swim meet is our 5th Annual 2011 Lexington Invitational on July 9, 2011.
To be a member of the swim team, participants must be able to swim a full length of the pool (25 yards) without stopping.
The age group for each swimmer is based on their age as of June 1, 2011.
Age: K-18 Years
Fee: $35 per swimmer
Volunteer Deposit: $35 per swimmer (Check returned after parent volunteers 2x per swimmer)
Additional Costs: Swim Suit, Swim Cap, Goggles, etc are all optional. Click here to order from The Lifeguard Store!

Lexington Lakers is a traveling recreational summer swim team with a schedule of 14 swim meets over 5 weeks (3 weeks in June and 2 weeks in July).
Practices will begin as soon as school is out and the pool is open. Practices are held every day in the morning Monday through Friday (times are determined by swimmer's age and skill level).
Swim Meets are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and some Saturdays. The first swim meet is Tuesday, June 7, 2011. The last swim meet is our 5th Annual 2011 Lexington Invitational on July 9, 2011.
To be a member of the swim team, participants must be able to swim a full length of the pool (25 yards) without stopping.
The age group for each swimmer is based on their age as of June 1, 2011.
Age: K-18 Years
Fee: $35 per swimmer
Volunteer Deposit: $35 per swimmer (Check returned after parent volunteers 2x per swimmer)
Additional Costs: Swim Suit, Swim Cap, Goggles, etc are all optional. Click here to order from The Lifeguard Store!

Volleyball Camp: The girls attending volleyball camp from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. June 1-4, will attend swim practice on June 1, 2, and 3 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 pm.

With Lindsay’s work schedule, we divided up the practices into two practices times (instead of three) and put the practices at an earlier start time.
We will have the younger/less experienced swimmers practice from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and the older/more experienced swimmers practice from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Lindsay will be available the entire practice times on Tuesday and Thursday and will have to leave at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Having the younger swimmers earlier ensures that they receive instruction from two coaches the entire practice time every day of the week The older swimmers will get 30 minutes with two coaches, and the last 30 minutes with one coach (3 days a week).

Lexington Lakers Swim Team Registration Information
Lexington Lakers Swim Team
Lexington is proud to be the home of the Lexington Lakers Swim Team. The Lexington Lakers Swim Team is a traveling swim team that participates in swim meets in June and July on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Although Lexington is a small town, we have a large and dedicated swim team with 70-80 swimmers participating each year. We swim against teams from Bloomington, Clifton, Colfax, Dwight, El Paso, Fairbury, Flanagan, Gridley, Metamora, Olympia, Pontiac, Roanoke, Streator, and Washington.
This year, our 4th Annual Lexington Invitational will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010. We have a great group of swim team parents that volunteer to make this swim meet the best Invitational held the entire summer! Since Lexington has taken over this Invitational 4 years ago, we have received numerous compliments and praises on this all-day swim meet.
Our swim coach for the past many years, Clif Morlan, will again be in Ireland this summer. Our assistant coach and past Lexington Lakers swimmer and Pontiac High School Co-Op Swimmer, Lindsay Duzan will be our Head Coach this summer!
The cost for swim team is only $35 per swimmer! The price has not increased in many years and is well below the price charged by surrounding towns. This price includes coaching, pool usage, and costs for participating in all Invitationals. With this low price, we also ask for a $35 deposit check per swimmer which is refunded after a parent volunteers at a swim meet 2x per swimmer during the regular season. Each home swim meet takes approximately 25 volunteers to ensure the swim meet runs smoothly. Each away meet is where the parents can sit back and relax and cheer for the team! Parents are also asked to volunteer at the Lexington Invitational.
This year we are offering an optional co-op with Bloomington Parks and Rec which will allow us to swim in two swim meets in Bloomington-Normal and participate in the Twin Cities Swim Conference (TCSC). The cost for this is an additional $10 per swimmer.
Practices will begin as soon as the pool is open! Keep your fingers crossed for good weather! Practice times are normally during the morning hours each day (including days of meets) and will run through July 23 (July 9 for those not participating in the optional Bloomington Co-Op). Practice times will be determined based on the numbers and ages of all swimmers. More information on practices will be forthcoming.
We need swimmers of all ages: Kindergarten to age 18! To be a member of the swim team, participants must be able to swim a full length of the pool (25 yards) without stopping. The age group for each swimmer is based on their age as of June 1, 2010. Age groups are: 6&Under and/or 8&Under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15&Up. We especially need boy swimmers and high school swimmers. We can work with you to accommodate your work schedule, vacation schedule, and/or baseball/softball schedule. Swim Team is a fun way to condition and cross-train for other sports!

Lexington Lakers Swim Team Information
Swim Team is right around the corner! Although it’s just now March, there is still plenty to do to get us ready. Here is some information to pass along:
1. Former Lexington Lakers swimmer, Lindsay Duzan will be the head coach this year!!!
2. We are looking into having some optional skill clinics taught by Lindsay this year.
3. You can still sign up for the ISU Swim Camp and/or Clinics https://illinoisstatesportscamps.com/swimming/index.php
4. We are working hard on scheduling our dual-team swim meets for Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July with nearby towns.
5. We will have new 2-year suits this year. Think bubbles!
6. We are in the process of designing new sweatshirts, t-shirts, and flannel pants through The Lifeguard Store!
7. Mark your calendars for the 4th Annual 2010 Lexington Invitational on Saturday, July 10, 2010. We will need as many swimmers and parents and volunteers at this meet as possible to continue making it a successful meet and a major source of income for our swim team which helps to keep our registration costs low!
8. The El Paso Invitational is June 19 and the Pontiac Pentathlon is June 26.

Peoria Journal Star Swim Meet - July 18, 2009
Hi! This year, the Lexington Lakers Swim Team is offering a chance to swim in a ‘big meet’ in Peoria to end our season! This meet is on Saturday, July 18, 2009 and is optional for all swimmers. One of the interesting aspects of this meet is that you swim your age and not your age group. For example, all 9 year olds swim and score against 9 year olds, not 9 and 10 year olds, etc. However 13-14 and 15&Up are still combined. Entry fees: $15.00 per swimmer. There are no fees for relays.
Awards for Individual events: Award Medals will be given to 1st-8th place swimmers and Award ribbons will be given to 9th-16th place swimmers in the following age categories: 6& Under, 7 year olds, 8 year olds, 9 year olds, 10 year olds, 11 year olds, 12 year olds, 13-14 year olds, and 15-HS age swimmers.
Awards for Relay events: Award Medals will be given to 1st-3rd place.
Awards for Teams: The team awards are designed for summer swim clubs in Central Illinois. USA Swimming Teams will be exempt from team awards. Team plaques will be given to 1st-3rd place teams.

3. I need to know if your swimmer wants a t-shirt. T-shirts are optional. The cost is $10. You can pay cash or check. Make checks payable to Lexington Park District. Available sizes are YS, YM, YL, AS, AM, AL, and AXL. I need the t-shirt size and money on or before Saturday, June 20 (you can give it to me Saturday at the El Paso Invitational).
4. The Park District will pay for your swimmer to swim in the Pontiac Pentathlon. Each swimmer swims all 5 events which is a total cost of $15 per swimmer. If you say you will swim and don’t show, you will need to reimburse the Park District for your entry fees.

Lexington Lakers Swim Team receives 5th place at the 2009 El Paso Invitational!
The Lexington Lakers Swim Team received 5th place out of 13 teams at the 2009 El Paso Invitational on Saturday, June 20, 2009. Lexington brought 51 swimmers to the meet and had an outstanding day which started at 8:00 a.m. for the 10 & Under swimmers and lasted until 5:30 p.m. for the 11 & Older swimmers. This year's Invitational also had a 19 & Over category which Assistant Coach Lindsay Duzan swam with lots of cheering from the younger Lexington swimmers. Congratulations to all of the Lexington swimmers!
High Points
Three Lexington swimmers received high points at the El Paso Invitational. 1st place high points receives a trophy as well!
- Lauren Boyd received 1st place in high points for 9-10 girls.
- Jessica Baker received 3rd place in high points for 9-10 girls.
- Danielle Baker received 3rd place in high points for 11-12 girls.

2. I need to know if your swimmer wants a t-shirt. T-shirts are optional. The cost is $10. You can pay cash or check. Make checks payable to Lexington Park District. Available sizes are YM, YL, AS, AM, and AL. I need the t-shirt size and money by Saturday, June 13 (you can give it to me at the Bloomington Swim Meet).
