Hello! Summer and Swim Team are both right around the corner! If you know anyone that is interested in swimming, please encourage them to try it out for a week! We need more swimmers! If they like it, they can sign up and if not, no problem. We are really trying to get the word out that we need more swimmers, so please encourage your friends. Also, if you are a sibling that will attend practices and meets, why not have them join in on the fun? We really need more swimmers! Also, if you are planning to be on the swim team, but haven't signed up yet, I have attached the registration form. Please complete and return ASAP! And did I mention, we really need more swimmers?! Thank you for your help in recruiting swimmers for our swim team! :)

2011 Swim Team Information

Lexington Lakers is a traveling recreational summer swim team with a schedule of 14 swim meets over 5 weeks (3 weeks in June and 2 weeks in July).
Practices will begin as soon as school is out and the pool is open. Practices are held every day in the morning Monday through Friday (times are determined by swimmer's age and skill level).
Swim Meets are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and some Saturdays. The first swim meet is Tuesday, June 7, 2011. The last swim meet is our 5th Annual 2011 Lexington Invitational on July 9, 2011.
To be a member of the swim team, participants must be able to swim a full length of the pool (25 yards) without stopping.
The age group for each swimmer is based on their age as of June 1, 2011.
Age: K-18 Years
Fee: $35 per swimmer
Volunteer Deposit: $35 per swimmer (Check returned after parent volunteers 2x per swimmer)
Additional Costs: Swim Suit, Swim Cap, Goggles, etc are all optional. Click here to order from The Lifeguard Store!
Registration and Swim-Suit Fitting Dates will be in April 2011. More info to come. Last year the registration dates were as follows:

Lexington Lakers Swim Team Information
Swim Team is right around the corner! Although it’s just now March, there is still plenty to do to get us ready. Here is some information to pass along:
1. Former Lexington Lakers swimmer, Lindsay Duzan will be the head coach this year!!!
2. We are looking into having some optional skill clinics taught by Lindsay this year.
3. You can still sign up for the ISU Swim Camp and/or Clinics https://illinoisstatesportscamps.com/swimming/index.php
4. We are working hard on scheduling our dual-team swim meets for Tuesdays and Thursdays in June and July with nearby towns.
5. We will have new 2-year suits this year. Think bubbles!
6. We are in the process of designing new sweatshirts, t-shirts, and flannel pants through The Lifeguard Store!
7. Mark your calendars for the 4th Annual 2010 Lexington Invitational on Saturday, July 10, 2010. We will need as many swimmers and parents and volunteers at this meet as possible to continue making it a successful meet and a major source of income for our swim team which helps to keep our registration costs low!
8. The El Paso Invitational is June 19 and the Pontiac Pentathlon is June 26.
9. We are working on an optional co-op with Bloomington Parks and Rec giving those swimmers who want “a little extra” the chance to swim 2 additional meets with Bloomington and the ability to swim in the ‘famous’ TCSC (Twin Cities Swim Conference) “B” Meet and “Championship” Meet on July 17 and July 24 respectively. More info will come on this exciting opportunity!

2009 Lexington Lakers Swim Team Information
Here is some important information for the 2009 Lexington Lakers Summer Swim Team!
Coach:
Clif Morlan is taking a leave of absence to teach in Ireland. He will be gone for two summers/one school year. Our Head Coach this year is Katie Sharrow. We have Lindsay Duzan returning from previous years as Assistant Coach.
Swim Team Signup Dates at City Hall (NOT Community Center):
Tuesday, 4/21 - 3:30-6:00
Wednesday, 4/22 - 3:30-6:00
Saturday, 4/25 - 9:00-11:00
Cost:
$35 Per Swimmer (no price increase!)
Volunteer Deposit:
$35 check per swimmer. We will continue with the volunteer deposit (similar to the baseball/softball concessions deposit) per the recommendation of the Park District. Once you volunteer TWO TIMES PER SWIMMER at a swim meet, your check deposit will be returned to you.
Schedule:
We are in the process of scheduling our dual and tri-meets. As soon as that is finalized, I will let you know. Here are the invitational dates to put on your calendar:
Saturday, 6/20 - El Paso Invitational (entire team)
Saturday, 6/27 - Pontiac Pentathlon (40 swimmers)
